For more than a decade, Spencer competed at the highest levels of professional baseball, pitching in Major League Baseball, playing internationally in Japan, and representing Team USA on the world stage. Yet through every season, every success, and every challenge, his greatest priority remained leading his family and faithfully following Christ.
Spencer and his wife, Jiletta, are raising three children and understand firsthand the challenges men face as they seek to lead their homes well in a culture constantly pulling them in other directions. When their oldest child was diagnosed with unilateral hearing loss, Spencer and his family stepped into advocacy and service, helping other families navigate similar challenges and serving through Hearing the Call, a nonprofit organization providing hearing healthcare to underserved communities both domestically and abroad.
His life is a powerful reminder that true leadership is not measured by championships, titles, influence, or achievements. It is measured by faithfulness.
For years, Spencer has been a trusted friend and partner of Everyman Challenge because he shares the same conviction we do:
Strong families need strong men.
Strong churches need strong men.
Strong communities need strong men.
And strong men are formed through surrender to Jesus Christ, authentic brotherhood, and a willingness to embrace the calling God has placed on their lives.
At this year’s Leadership Luncheon, Spencer will share lessons learned from professional sports, family life, adversity, faith, and leadership. More importantly, he will challenge us to consider what it truly means to win in the areas that matter most.
Because at the end of the day, championships fade.
Statistics are forgotten.
Careers eventually end.
But your wife remembers how you loved her.
Your children remember how you led them.
And eternity remembers whether you were faithful.
Join us for an afternoon of leadership, brotherhood, and vision as we hear from a man who has competed on some of the world’s biggest stages, yet understands that the greatest legacy a man leaves is not what he accomplished, but who he became.
